and the price directly from CNI may be $300 ?
 





Oh, they just lower their prices more and more. :-? This looks good, in a couple of years this may be the price for 10-15mw. :P
 
Nice find. Is that their actual price now, or did you get some sort of deal?
 
how many years until you guys think that blue, yellow, and orange lasers are like green laser now? (price and power)
 
I'll give it a good 5 years or so years, technology doubles every 6 months or so...i think... ;D ;D

I think blue will get there in 2-3 years what with laser TVs and whatnot causing diode blues to be developed, but yellow at 594 will likely never get cheap, and I really doubt we'll see a bright yellow that's ~580nm or a true orange that's ~615nm in pointer form. At least not any time soon anyway, there's not any reason yet for those wavelengths to be developed in mass to let us catch the run off in handheld lasers.

sweet, i can wait a few years, i most likely will not get a blue laser until the price versus power gets allot better because i don't see the point in buying a <5mw laser for about $400!
 
Yeah I bet 473nm diodes will be produced in higher and higher quantities over the next few years. Eventually I bet that they will be cheaper than DPSS blue lasers.
