I don't know about you younger Geeks, but for those of my generation, Arthur C. Clarke was a huge influence on our world-view and our acceptance of all things tech. His fiction was prophetic, optimistic and sceptical... influencing a generation's views on science and religion.

Geeks everywhere owe him an incalculable debt. He was the John Lennon of geekdom and I, for one, mourn his passing.

Goodbye Arthur.

just read about him in a blog, too sad...
clarke's laws:

1. When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong.
2. The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible.
3. Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.
