Are Sanwu lasers legal to purchase in America?

I was looking into buying a Sanwu pocket laser 5mw+.
However, the lasers do not seem to comply with American regulations.
Would it illegal to purchase one of these lasers from them, and if so, would I be in trouble?

No. The law speaks of importation. However, the reality is different. It's unlikely anything would happen.

Assuming you live in the US, there have been many people who have purchased these lasers from Sanwu and other suppliers without problems for years. It is unlikely that it would be seized by customs and even more unlikely that if it were that you would personally find yourself in trouble with law enforcement.

Paul sums it up very well here, I personally have imported my lasers with varying powers and have not had a problem. Don't be worried if you do purchase one and it's in customs for a few days, it's high traffic time of year and while customs in my opinion has gotten much faster, it can still take up to 2 weeks or so.
