Are my safety glasses legit?

I bought a pair of laser safety glasses a while back for like $50, they are blue lenses and I was told they are OD4+ from 200nm-780nm but that seems like a wide range mostly I see them being specifically for a more narrow spectrum with higher OD ratings.

They came in an eagle case and have a CE in tiny letters on the side but I don't know what a real CE stamp/sticker looks like.

An OD4+ rating for the whole range of 200nm to 780nm is definitely not legit if for no other reason then blocking out basically all visible light.

IIRC there were some goggles floating around that had a variable OD rating and covered most of the spectrum at a rating of OD 1 and some areas with a higher rating.

There were definitely over $50 though.

With blue lenses I would imagine the goggles may have been meant for ~650nm, but that's just a guess.

Please post pictures of the goggles... regardless I wouldn't trust them without testing them out first.

Agree with IE, spec doesn't match the price. If you have any low powered lasers you can look at the dot of, it should give you an idea of what they are for.

The specs are incorrect and it can't be CE certified as laser safety eyewear. Unless you're certain they work I'd recommend not using them. I recommend actual certified stuff anyway.

I was checking them out last night and I can see blue LED's through them without any dimming but anything red is pretty much gone or looks black when viewed through them. Luckily my first build is a 650nm so these appear to be good for that, but when I go down to 405/445/532 I will get another pair specifically for that.

These are very dark blue lenses and the entire pair is made of the same material, closest color match I've seen are for pairs rated for 580-760nm.
