Arctic fail. what do i do?

This has to be one of the best points made so far on the Arctic, thanks.

I was worried about ~100+ mW being bounced back into the diode anyway, and now you've mentioned this, I've promptly removed the glass lens from my training lens cap and voila; one unobstructed, still protected and cool looking laser... With an extra power boost for free!!

After seeing several threads about diodes failing, I think it is prudent to prevent unwanted reflected light, so the front glass has to go.

Being a retired auto mechanic, I have a lot of old parts laying around. Here's a firm plastic bushing that fits perfectly under the training cap.

Just unscrewed the retainer on the training lens and set in in. It's a 1/2 inch thick.

Just screw in back on and now it seals against the black "top hat". It will keep out dirt effectively.

Anything you can fit in there would be good to seal the front of the Artic.
