AR coated lens

Got round to building the 980nm 500mw ir illuminater, but run into a problem the lens i am using is not AR coated would this make a big difference to help with getting a sharp focus ?


AR coated 450-900nm i can get the same lens with this coating if it would help?.

I don't think it's possible for it to make any difference in the focus. No AR coating or AR coating for the wrong wavelength will only result in some power loss, nothing else.
