Anyone know what's up with Tinker Lasers?

Hello, I haven't really posted on LPF but thought I'd chime in here. I've been content with my old WL 15mW laser for about 15? years now but since yellow/orange lasers are now much more common and affordable I decided to order a 593nm Valkyrie from Tinker.

Order was placed on Nov 1. A tracking number was generated on Nov 12 but USPS has not received the package yet. I sent an email on Nov 20 asking for an estimated ship date but have not received a response yet. I'm still holding out for an update but chargeback is an option if necessary. I'm looking forward to an amber laser so hopefully I can hear back soon.
Get your money back. I still have some 593nm modules in stock and can build you a custom pointer if you'd like. I build and ship most laser pointers within 1 business day.

Hi!
You should see a tracking update today. Sorry for the delay!

I see Tinker has already posted an update but I also wanted to confirm that he has provided me with a tracking number. I can update once I receive the package as well.

Edit: I meant to say that Tinker has provided me with confirmation that my package was dropped off since the tracking number had been previously generated. Thanks again Tinker.

Thanks Shmackitup. Now that I have confirmation that my package is on the way I will stick with the Valkyrie 593nm but I've been checking out a few different sellers, including you, and I may be looking for one or two more lasers (probably 488nm or 660nm) at some point.

From now on @tinkertavernco , make sure that you make anyone satisfied and happy about laser purchases or whenever customers purchase things from you.

When you couldn't fulfill orders during a short period, you should have made announcements on your website, ebay etc. about something like "currently unavailable right now to ship/receive orders", right?
Or maybe refunded the payments anyone paid when you didn't fulfill and ship the orders.
This honesty would have helped you to prevent causing problems among your customers!
You have caused so many issues and shown bad reputation about yourself, which is something not great and should have avoided.
Hopefully that reputation can change and improve since you for instance have updated an order and also shipped it, maybe others will feel like you are more reliable than ever over time and stop taking you for granted.

I had once a product of my cart on Ebay from Barnett Unlimited. It said on Ebay that Barnett was on holiday and would ship later.
This kind of information is essential for customers whenever a seller can't for instance process and/or ship an order, so the customers can know and be aware of important information.

There is now a big chance you won't get banned on LPF, don't forget that there was once a poll about banning you

Do better from now on and good luck with your future sales!
I hope you completely agree with me!
Make your customers satisfied and happy (y):)

Hello everyone and Happy Thanksgiving! I'm dropping in to report that my laser arrived last Friday and everything looks good!
I'm happy it arrived good. What model, output and wavelength?
Will you be reviewing it later?

Congrats, happy lasing!

Hello LPF,

I decided I'd post about my experience with Tinker Lasers after seeing and following this thread.

I had originally ordered a Valkyrie 488 on October 19th to test the waters so to speak. It arrived exactly one week later on October 26, just as described. Case, caps, glasses, batteries, and charger. This unit is a beast - very solid.

With my fresh discount card in hand from the prior purchase, I decided to pull the trigger on the rainbow bundle on October 26. That's 8 lasers (405, 450, 488, 520, 555, 573, 593 , and 638) and an 80W flashlight. I threw in the beam expanders.

It was around this point in time I became aware of this thread and became nervous.

After a little over 3 weeks, on November 21, I established contact with Tinker requesting an ETA. I received a reply that they would check into my order and get back to me later that evening. I was informed that the 573 was on backorder for 40 days. They offered a 425 in it's place and i politely declined.

I was also offered an opportunity to switch out the 488, as I already owned one, for one of the limited time valkyries not offered in the rainbow bundle (480, 501, or 505). Very nice offer, I thought to myself. I opted to exchange the 488 for a 501. I was informed my order would ship soon without the 573, which would be fulfilled once it was back in stock.

After not receiving a dispatch notification, I reached out to Tinker once more on December 2. They replied almost immediately saying that they would be shipping out my order the next day. I received the delivery yesterday, December 9.

The delivery included 6 lasers and the beam expanders. I received a 405, a 450, what i believe is a 480, two 520s, and a 638. I noted the 405 had gold colored housing and the 638 had a line that intersected the point on the wall forming more of a bar than a point. It's difficult to determine exactly what was received as only three of the boxes were labeled correctly.

I reached out to Tinker again last night to provide an update to them and let them know i was a little disappointed. I got another prompt response that the 555, 573, and 593 would ship out today, December 10, and that the 80W flashlight has been discontinued - they'd replace it with something else. I was told that the 638 was preforming as expected - the 638 diodes displayed this characteristic. If i didn't like it, that I could exchange it for a 501. We'd work out later returning the second 520.

Now you're caught up. I want to point out that every time I reach out to Tinker, I get a very quick and courteous reply. As I've told them, their customer service appears second to none. And the build quality of the products is incredible. That being said, we'll see how this shakes out. I'll be providing updates as they occur and hope to review what I have received so far soon.
