I think its a Triac, it came out of my minicraft low voltage hobby drill speed controller. , it dies under load, I've built a simple LM338T speed contoller but its not as good as this one when it was working.

The old circuit just had a pot, couple of resistors & caps and thats it.

It is probably a "House" number..
What did it come out of and at what section of
the circuit...:thinking:
How was it identified on the PCB..

There are no markings on the PCB

You can use almost any 8 Amp (or higher) 400 Volt (or higher) SCR...
Do a search at DigiKey... Mouser or eBay..
