i put fresh batteries in my leadlight that outputs 75mws on a rckstr driver. The dot looks plenty bright , but around the dot i can see a dim box like thing, its agreensih hue. also, my laser seems less powerful then it was yesterday, even though the batteries tested at the same voltage both days. my question is: Is thwe dot natural, or is there a problem?
and what, besides batteries, effects the outputting power a of a blu-ray laser?

You are over-analyzing your laser dot.  Re-read the sticky about blu-ray lasers and relax.  The longer you stare at it the more you will "see."

The yellowish/green "ghosts" around the beam are normal.

Peace,
