I used too.
I had quite a few. Haven't had the time recently for it. 
I never got far past the D Engines though. I have a partially built kit that would use a G Engine, but it has never flown.

I've built more rockets then I've launched.
Some of them pretty large, too.
Once you start getting in J size rocket motors, it's times to get a life and take on a laser diode hobby.

Does anyone want to link me a nice kit? I used to do this, and I think it would be fun to get back into. I want a pretty nice size one. Not one that's like 10-12 inches tall or something.

Check out the Pro Series line on the Estes website
Most of these take E motors.
Anything larger you'll not likely find in a kit.
I went through a Tomahawk Missile phase.

I build a few hybrid rocket engines, but never an actual rocket with them because I think its to dangerous to start a rocket with metal parts as an amateur.
Hybrid rockets are very interesting I tried many fuels NO2 and parrafin with aluminium powder and graphit worked best for me.

Nice. If you use a G motor, you better be in the desert and have a vehicle to go retrieve it. Sharp eyes and binoculars will be needed, too.

I'm working up to the bigger engines. I got bored really quickly with the kits so a lot of my rockets are trial and error. Right now I'm trying to perfect a dual C boost stage to a single C/B main. The booster works great, just having reliability issues getting the main stage to ignite.
I am working on getting my HPR Cert. But living in the middle of the desert makes it hard to get winds under 15mph for a good launch so for now I'm learning to build multi stage rockets eventually a 4 motor boost - another 4 motor boost - then a 3 motor main.
You said you used to, what is your current skill level? I would recommend an estes kit to get your feet wet again. I looks on their site and found a few that I think would be fun builds. (I have the 3 stage)

Did so many years ago but like most things in Australia I now it's very regulated ,so haven't done it for years

I got one of those little 20$ rocket kits. Started out with the small engines and got a good 500 feet of height.
Then I bought more powerful engines and got about 1500 feet, and my rocket deployed its parachute at about 800 feet and caught a breeze and sailed off into the forest.
I live in NewBrunswick, so everywhere is forest. The largest open field I can find is only 200 meters across, and always surrounded by woods. I've given up on my love of rockets until I move somewhere more open.

I wouldn't call FlaminPyro's rockets, they're more like mortars, and I wouldn't call them amateur either haha.
The first rocket my son made was a tiny estes kit... only we put a C-6 in it. No clue how high it went but it took us the better part of an hour to find it after the first launch. By the third launch the wind picked up significantly and it blew it just under mile away. Luckily we live in the desert and we could watch the bright orange parachute since we knew which general direction to look.
My experimental rockets are more fun to build than the kits but it has taken me a few tries to get the booster stage to ignite the second stage. Even still I'm having trouble with reliability.

Too funny. I've lost some of my best rockets when moving up to bigger motors. I've come to learn recovery of the rocket is the single-most import aspect of the hobby. If there is risk I cannot recover said rocket, it becometh wise not to launch it.
