Googled the whole net...... NOTHING

is the longer leg + or -

The alden connector on a HeNe tube, what is the polarity??

So if you had a raw supply with flying leads, what leg does the red wire hook up to?

Shorter leg is the HV +

Usually smaller leg is the HV and + polarity, Itgoes to the side of the tube witout the aluminum cylinder. Bigger side is - HV return it may or may not be tied to ground. As a rule in smaller hene tubes it is a ground, on larger hene tubes it floats

Thanks, I have an unknown tube, it is sealed in a steel cylinder and has an Alden connector on it.

My supply is a bare supply with flying leads, Once I confirm the tube works, I will just grab up the first supply on ebay for under $25 that is not sold "as-is"

Need a 6.5ma supply. primary side I prefer 12 volts, second choice 120, last choice 24 volt.
