Hey all:

I been fascinated with Adrunio for a little while now. I recently got a uno from GB to review. I will have that review up later this week. I am wondering if any one has experience with them and would not mind giving a quick down and dirty class on adrunio it would greatly appreciated. I would like to use the Uno as the base for a voice activated laser so that i do not need a switch to turn it on but that may be a little more complicated than it sounds. Any way if any one has a few minutes tonight or next week and has skype I would greatly appreciate any and all help I am pacific time zone so what ever fits in to your schedule

Two things, number one its spelled "arduino" lol... make sure its spelled or you wont get any search results.
2. A quick search revealed this: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&ei=RBJZVeOBEIq7ggSmHw&url=http://m.instructables.com/id/Voice-Activated-LED-Lighting-with-Arduino/&ved=0CB0QFjAA&usg=AFQjCNExsxnQJJmzIekpABcMw48ukmSOjw&sig2=Y6qwJlAmklY8ttvvB_97Ig

Just follow this and you shouldn't go wrong. Good luck with your project :)

Thank Marcuspeh that is going to help a ton. Like I said been interested in the arduino for a while now and now i get to play with one and hopefully it comes out like I want but that page will help a bunch thanks much

Sounds like a fun project. You know videos and pictures will be requested. Good luck.

will do Doc as soon as I get all the parts. With money being tight like it is. I have to come up with stuff a little at a time. I have the red laser in a module i got from a friend. I just have to make a liner diver out of a lm 317 and to date I have not been successful at making one work. I do have a cree driver I may see if it will work. I do not know what the mil amps are but I know the model and will ask the manufacture what the specs are for it and go from there. I have a project box that I going to throw all of it in to. I have some cheap module mics that come wired for arduino and that will be my pic up. I may end up also installing a infrared trans and receiver as well. The overall goal of the project is to have a active and passive side to the thing. Ultimately I would like to use this as a project for my thesis for my technology courses that I doing with University of Phoenix. We all know that nothing is fool proof and with laser alarm systems all it takes is a good pair of night vision to see the beams of any ir laser. with some ingenuity they can be defeated and gotten around with out cutting the power. I know that some of the government systems that use lasers also have movement detectors and pressure sensitive tiles. But no one has ever use sensitive mics in combo with a laser system. At least not to my knowledge. The one thing with voice is every ones voice is different and is unique like a finger print. Ya you can copy it but if it sounds just a tiny fraction off then it will not work. Hence the need for a passive i.e the ir part and the active side i.e the voice side. While I know that this sounds like a big project it is. But It will help with some of the boredom I have at home. Many of you know that I am still sick. My team have been looking for a cause for the weakness and tremors on my left side. So this long project will help with it some. I can only solder for about twenty to thirty minutes before I get to tired and have to stop for a while. But between my classes and this project I think I should be ok.

A project I've always wanted to do is an 8x8x8 RGB LED cube. Too much soldering though. I'd start going crazy trying to do that much. Then if I messed up, it would have to be partially undone.

That's what I experience :shhh:

An RGB cube would be amazing, but I made a single color 8x8x8 cube, and there's no way I'd have the patience. Multicoloured LEDs are also super expensive at all of the reputable websites I've seen :cryyy:

Is there any way to make this image smaller
