90mw leadlight 105 greenie

Back in my leadlight 105 modding days (several years ago) I came across a rare unit that put out 20mw stock, I aligned the crystals, swapped the resister and cranked the pot up to obtain an initial 100-110mw that would slowly decline to a stable 80-90mw. I used to buy these green leadlight 105's a dozen at a time and modify them and sell them with a self designed bracket used for astronomy(telescopes) anyway I kept this freek pointer for my own personal unit and still have it to this day- it never ceases to amaze newbs who never seen a green but over the years has dropped to around 55-65mw.

Anyway Ive been out of the laser scene for years and am just wondering if high output units like this can still be easily bought and modded to produce similar results? Or- if its harder to come across units like this .... I want another powerful greenie but dont know if I should try and find a cheapie to mod or shell out for a wickedlaser?

Would love to hear others own experiences who came across rare high powered units after modding- and would like to hear of alternative sources for a good high power greenie.

Unfortunately the greenies these days aren't like those 105s. The 105s were awesome, I was able to smoke leather with one of those I modded a few years ago. ;D Most of the greenies these days are made so much cheaper now so pot mods don't work. The crystal sets are smaller so upping the pot just over-saturates the crystals.

Fortunately though, the high powered greenies are much cheaper now. Stay away from WL though, there have been so many problems with units they have sent out lately, plus their prices are way too high.
