So, I was wondering: What is in an 803T sled besides a blu-ray and an infrared diode? I read that there is some magnesium in there, and some optics, but I was wondering if there is anything else of interest and where it is. Also, what power is the diode in the center? And what wavelength?

Diode in the center? You must be thinking that there's a diode under that main lens. Well, there is, but it's the violet and Infrared diode reflected to it. If you look right next to the IR and violet diodes, there are two little disks, one white and one black. Inside these are diffraction gratings, that will make a nice array of dots. These are good for lasers with thin beams, since the grating is tiny.

There are some cool optics and some small Nd magnets, but the most fun stuff in that the sled is made out of magnalium. After you harvest everything go and light the sled on fire.

Whoa nice, I was wondering what metal it was made of! I can't seem to get the optics out without damaging them, though. (I already took the sled apart.)

i usually just do the screw driver and electrical tape method too. works flawlessly. the optics are secured very tight. so they come off pretty easily.

also taking the time to take apart as much of the sled as you can will help a lot
