I remember reading about this. I think it might have been a thread on here even. But they were talking about how if this ever did hit the market, you could just buy replacement headlights and extract the diodes just from that.

Pff, they can't even make a proper lowbeam with it? I swear, the semiconductor industry hands them a pure block of gold and the auto industry polishes it into the shape of a turd. So much potential, and yet they shine a laser at a phosphor impregnated piece of plastic and call it groundbreaking...
