I love this host I got. It is basically a deluxe pen host. The spot in the pictures does not reflect what it looks like in person. It is a nice clean spot but the camera on my phone has lines on the glass that cause the light refraction. I thought the host was going to be much larger and then when it arrived with it's sister I was shocked. I am built a matching 635nm red but I have listed it for sale as I can't stand the beam specs. Looks like I may never sell it though. Here is a link to the sister laser http://laserpointerforums.com/f50/700mw-ehgemus-635nm-red-pen-70981.html

Host: Custom Ehgemus
Driver: Flexdrive
Lens: 405-G-2
Output: 725mW
Battery: Single 14650
On with the pics.

Very nice! How much current are you feeding in to that diode, btw?

I am not sure. I slowly adjusted the pot on this build while metering it until I got the output I wanted.

So I tweaked the pot a little smidgen more today at noon and the power jumped up to 850mW. It is a very nice output for such a small build. The beam is noticeably brighter and the spot seems much brighter but after 40 seconds the top of the laser gets very warm to the touch. Perhaps I should turn it down a little. No way. I am just going to use very short duty cycles so it won't get hot. I don't know what it is with 405nm diodes but the jump from 700 and 800mW seems like a huge difference in perceived brightness. Maybe the wavelength shifts up a tad along with the power output.

:O
nice little beast you got there!
surprised it can go that high in such a small host!

hi there,
Nice build. !!
I would like to second statement about slight but noiceable jump in wavelength between 500-700mW and 800+mW with these diodes. Mine is now over a year old pen sized two AAA Li-Ions with groove2 outputting over 800mW peaks with fresh batteries, and settling between 650-750mW with somewhat used batteries.
Very good diodes. I still have two i havent pushed as i promised. Time always works against my hobbies :-(

Hey bud, it's been a long time since I've seen you around the forum.
