I knew CO2 tubes were big but somehow I didn't think in my mind that a 60W tube was this big (4ft tube).

were did you get that from ive been looking for one and was it expensive.

Nice one frothy ! Water cooled at 60W ( watch for back reflections ::) ).

What are you going to do with it ( like I don't already know ;D ).

The 40 watt tube is about the same size. Maybe this has a larger bore to handle the power.

Really? The 40W tubes I see on the bay are either 700mm (2'4") or 1000mm (3'3"). Perhaps your 40W tube is actually a 60W?
 
This tube is 1250mm by like 54mm.

The tubes delivered today are not mine. One is going to a customer and the other is going into inventory. They will still need to be tested, however.
 
they are some pretty nice tubes you have there :)

Lucky customer, bet your looking forward to the testing.

Im planing to get a 40 watt co2 sealed tube , does it matter what way round the watter goes into the tube eg dose it go in the end with the output coupler ( were the laser light exits the tube) or goes in the end with the mirror .

how many L/M of water should i run through the tube

Both ends have mirrors :P One is HR the other is OC. I doubt it matters which way water goes through though as long as it goes through at a suitable pressure / flow rate .

what flow rate of water should i have in liters per min
 
Higher is better up to a point. I have about 12LPM running through mine but I think you could get away with as low as 3-4LPM provided you ensure the temperature does not exceed 120°F or so.

They run a little better with cold water.

thanks for the information i have a 10 liter a min pump , can i use standard tap water and from what i have herd you don't need fancy laser goggles the ones you see in a science lab will work or any clear plastic goggles, it this true

standard tap water will work, but if possible I would use distilled water to minimize mineral deposits. Standard safety glasses are excellent for blocking the beam. I tested a pair and they took 12 seconds to fail while in front of a 60W unfocused beam.
