^Purple isn't 450nm. It's 405nm, and I'd bet it's a typical 30mW. Our past experience tells us blue, violet, and green "5mW" pointers are very rarely under 5mW. And if they are, they're 0mW.

What do you think is more likely:
1) They've relisted the power to comply with rules
2) They've used a unique diode so inefficient it makes selenium rectifiers look like perpetual motion machines
3V boosted to 4.5V assuming an 80% efficient driver means driving the diode at ~180mA and only getting 5mW of light out. Not gonna happen, sir.
@Cyparagon This laser probably runs of a boost driver and considering it only get's 3V from the batteries it's going to use a lot of current
