I know this can be done, its simply a matter of changing the transformer taps. I've done the small transformer but need to do the big (filament transformer). Does anyone know which wires to move.
edit Gawd its basic electronics theory. It should work like an autotransformer - find the tap thats 32v higher and use that, provided it hasn't already been tapped to 240V. Easily checked by measuring the filament output. Amazing what a few ales and a chat with a fellow engineer can do
Should have this sorted by this arvo. Not using a death lead (ac cable with croc clips) without another person present.
edit: got it - tap 8 was the 240V tap. But laser still doesnt start - no ticking from the igniter. Tube is gas intact, probably the triggering SCR
Cheers
