You cannot tell much from "apparent" brightness. An LPM could tell you what the two lasers are actually putting out. However, the "brightness" can be affected by many factors.

yeah mate i just expected something a bit more powerful,

it wont burn matches with black texta on the tip, or a balloon... even with them energizer advanced lithium batteries. =[ maybe i'll try rechargeables next time.
 
I'm dumbfounded as to how you got a beam, in daylight, OUTSIDE using a 30mw...
 
Well, the highest it could be whilst still looking like THAT module, is 150mw. Their 200, and 300mW are a lot more beatly-er looking.
