Hello people,
I just wanted to ask if you can still see a big difference between 470nm / 525nm
because i want to buy a sanwu blue and a green laser
my options are 5W 445nm or 4W 470nm against a 1.2W 525nm
personally i like the aqua blue more (i never seen in real life but i know aqua blue will be nicer looking than a 445nm blue)
but i still want to able see a difference between blue and green
is the difference still big between 4W 470nm and 1.2W 525nm?
thank you in advance

I imagine you mean to ask if there is a noticeable difference in brightness? If so this tool gives pretty good approximations and is very easy to use. ~470nm IMO looks much better than the indigo-blue of 445nm. 470nm is almost like a sky blue. 470nm is a lot more visible per mW than 445nm at equal powers. If you have to pick between 445 and 470nm, it is hard to go wrong with 470nm.

Hi, thanks for the tool
i mean that if you can still clearly see the difference in color between a 470nm and a 525nm when put them next to each other

You're asking us if we can tell if you can understand the difference between green and blue.

I guess you can..? I hope. Or are you colour blind?

If you are asking if you can see the difference between blue and green of course you can unless you have a color blindness problem. You can common sense guess that is true as blue and green are different colors by definition.. For that matter normal eyes can very easily see the color difference between 445nm and 470nm---very different colors. A 525nm 1.2W will be brighter than a 4W 470nm however.

"The average human can detect differences in color as low a 1 nm depending on color subject to:
Good quality laser glasses/goggles are a must have ans use item for use of either or both of those lasers. Be sure and get good quality Eagle Pair for those wavelengths see: https://www.survivallaserusa.com/Safety_Goggles/cat1667093_1527285.aspx

ok thank you
so a 470nm is still a true blue color? and not a greenish blue color? (because i never seen a 470nm in real life, sorry if this is a stupid question)

I cannot pass the Ishihara test for blue/green to save my life... however, I can easily see the difference between 445, 470, and 525.

The link that CynicalBrad posted from lambdawave gives a decent color representation by wavelength. Use that tool to get a colorr approximation. For myself, the transition from blue to green happens around 495nm-500nm. At 488nm it looks like a very light blue with no green to my eyes. At 505nm it looks mint green. I find that the true teal color, where it looks both green and blue at the same time is a very small wavelength range. 525nm is a true green, 445nm is a deep blue, and 470nm is a lighter blue.
