Hello LPF,

So, my diode has been diagnosed by experienced members on here as broken. I'm looking to get a new one, but I'm looking at the same type 445NM M-140. I was wondering what does the G-2 Lens improve, and when I put my diode into the hot am i suppose to leave the silver backing thing on?

And, since I already have a Diode and module would I be able to send it to someone for repair instead of buying a new one?

Thanks for reading,

Qorx. :)

You're not really off to a good start here. But I will see if I can help. The G-2 lens "collects" more light from the diode and in turn provides higher outputs than the 3 element lens. What silver backing? If your talking about the Aixiz focusing adapter then that is the FRONT of your lens barrel. This part allows you to easily grasp the lens barrel and turn it to focus it. You may have some takers to repair your laser at your cost. Seeing as how you have 3 bars neg rep I would imagine they would require payment up front. Also it would help to update your profile to reflect your location.

I've updated all my profile information, and yes not the best start to here but I'm wanting to fix that all up.

I also don't have a problem with paying up-front to a trusted member of the site.

Well seeing that your in Aus I would HIGHLY recommend you find someone there to ship your laser too. There's no guarantee it will get past customs on the way back into country if you have it shipped out. I don't want to burden any Aus member by calling them out and them unable to help. They can post here if they are willing to help or you can search around. If round trip and labor is already payed for I can't see why any hobbiest would want to help out.

Ok cool, also looking into buying a new soldering iron. Would you say a Max output of 40W is perfect?

Depends on what you are using it for. 40W should be sufficient for small jobs.

I would search for something from Weller. Wattage would depend on what kind of jobs you're doing.

There ya go. Persoanlly I have a 250W weller at work I have used and its fantastic. At 500 $ its a bit out of my price range. Currently im using a 30W iron and heatgun combination thing I got from amazon for around 100 $ works like a champ. I also have a 100ish watt ( cant remeber) Weller that I use for my larger jobs. Mostly car stuff. Weller has fantastic quality IMO.

Ahk, thanks a tonne Speedy78.

Also; if there is anyone what will repair my laser module please PM me or post here.

Thanks. :)
