Hey all, I'm selling my 445 nm diode that has a missing window (I got it out in one piece!) ... I've tested it out, and it works just fine (if not better; the output is absolutely SPOTLESS)

I'm asking for $25 shipped anywhere in the USA. It has flying leads, and includes an aixiz acrylic lens to go with it. Running off of 470 mA, she's absolutely BRIGHT. The beam is super visible. (I think it might've been a higher wavelength one/high efficiency?)

Really wish she didn't break, but oh well I suppose...

Pics;

PM please!

Re: 445 nm in module with leads $25

:/ i have to disagree a bit while it is a cheap price..decanned 445 diodes DO degrade over a few months. basically your buying a diode sitting on death row...but unlike in real life it doesnt have years it most likely has months :p

anyways.....good luck with the sell

Re: 445 nm in module with leads $25

It's actually not even technically "decanned" so to speak. The window is just gone. :p

I call it "windowless" :D

Re: 445 nm in module with leads $25

Its not decanned.

For under $50 you could build a 1W laser thats lasts months, maybe longer, with this set up.

still exposed to oxygen :p

but yep true true

not trying to kill the sale i just wanted any possible buyers to know. i honestly would buy it to mess around with...but the list of projects i have would take me 10 years to read out loud

Re: 445 nm in module with leads $25

Yeah I have not seen any conclusive data showing that a decanned or windowless 445nm diode will degrade within months of use. Is this fact or speculation? I have a decanned 445nm diode here in my possession. Perhaps I will use it some everyday for a few months and do weekly test on the LPM.

Re: 445 nm in module with leads $25

Eeeeh, I'm deciding not to sell it anymore. I apologize Tony.

I'll report back on the forum whenever it does decide to give up the ghost, so we can get some definite answers if these do in fact die much faster without a window... It's gonna go in a C6 for sure. :p

I hope you understand!
