445 divergence?

Did some tests tonight, but no ruler measuring until daylight tomorrow!

I tried my G9 lens, and the line length looks about the same, so it's not the G2 lens.

I also tried the 3 element lens. a just saw a nice small dot ( at 75') with this lens. It's my favorite by far even with the power reduction! To bad about the big circular spray it projects! This would be the go to lens without it. There has to a way to kill it? BTW is there a top, and bottom to the 3 element? Which way does it go?

I still want to firgure out what going on with the G2 / G9. Again, Could anyone tell me what length line I should see at 50', and 75' or even 100'? I'd love to have those figures tomorrow to compare my results against.

These might help you find the problem. Compare the beams at the focus... Lots videos and focus plus pics of 9mm stock lens in barrel...

P.S. Maybe add some pics of your mounted diode and the lens... My divergence was not the best but the beam looked so good and burned everything I pointed it at, instantly. I could focus it to a dot dot..., like 1/4" at <6 feet out. That is very tight but was the real world I noticed. I had M140 though...

OK, here are the test results.

The issue appears to be my eyesight! :-)

I just got in from taking measurements, and it appears that distance + the line brightness was altering my perception.

@ 40' The line was perhaps 1 7/8's long. Which appears to the the same length line that DTR got in his broken beam sticky! Yeah!


@50' Line appears to be 2.25" long.


@75' Line appears to be 3.5" long.


I guess this all is more in line with average? Perhaps some kind soul could do a quick mRAD calc?
