414mW bluray laser kit on ebay

Hi,

I found this laser on ebay:
250mW 405nm Blue-Violet Laser Diode Module, Glass lens - eBay (item 280514405564 end time Jun-06-10 09:41:07 PDT)

It is rated to 250mW or so, but can put out much more - up to (probably damaging) 414mW.

The price is 75 dollars + 5 dollars in shipping.

Is this a safe deal, or should I try something else?

This diode died after 414mW@350mA 10mA step I-P-V test - room temperature with glass lens after install tiny heatsink.

I am pretty sure that is a SF-AW diode that you can pick up now for $10 in the GB, aixiz glass lens is $13, driver is a LOT of work so if you wanted to get a btter one for $13 you could do that. Tiny heasink is practically useless. Aixiz module is $3. I would say you're looking at a $40 value there.
