3W+ 445nm googles needed

Hey everybody

I searched here in the forum for high quality and high protection googles. I saw that the most of you recomend survival laser.
But I didn't find some googles that wilp protect 3W+.

Does anybody know if survival lasers eagle pair is enough? Or do I need betters? If yes which one?

technically speaking, an Eagle Pair would be enough (Eagle Pair are around OD4) as the OD required to safely use such a laser is around 3.5 (see: https://www.lia.org/evaluator/od.php)

HOWEVER, having experienced "flashback" from a 1.6Watt 445nm laser in my Eagle Pair, I would be looking to certified lenses for a 3Watt laser. Certified means that the lenses are guaranteed tested to put up with the laser wavelengths and powers that they specify, and won't quickly burn through or crack the lens if it gets hit. You can pick up a pair of ARGs that look like this -

from a company called Cascade laser in Oregon.

A goggle like that completely covers your eyes and the lenses are certified and offer an excellent VLT - 48% - at OD7+ (it peaks near 8 at certain wavelengths).

Your other option is these - they're cheaper but the VLT is less at 35%:

I'm hoping mine will arrive any day now - tomorrow if my luck improves - and I'll be reviewing them when I get them.

No need to look around - I gave you links. There is also a review of the certified goggle in my signature. You can find that type in other places and for probably a bit cheaper than I got it, but the foundation is there.

The main problem I had was finding websites that actually sold them in style 60.

Apparently you can also find used Argon goggles on ebay and suchlike that do much the same job, I have no way of testing as I don't have a pair, and they often don't list specifications. However, Argon lasers that emit the multi coloured lines go down into the blue spectrum so the goggles would likely cover that wavelength.
