30volt solar cell. Know of any good uses?

Years ago, I put together a solar charger. I get about 30 volts when its in full sun.

I made it a battery charger for alkaline batterys. I wanted to see if I could re-charge them and it worked. But it took a full day of charging to charge 2 aas.

The 2 AA's were at 0.9 volts and were at 1.4 at the end of the day.


does anyone know what I could use this solar cell for?

You could send it to me, so I can upgrade my pathway lighting that is currently (get it ? CURRENT ! LOL !!!) only charged by a 8volt cell I could get it to charge a LOT faster this way ! That is what I have been using all these luxeon LED's for....hehehehehe

Just to make a note here for safety, Alkaline batteries are not meant to be recharged! Doing so can cause the battery to leak, vent or explode.

Well,I have been charging alkalines for awhile. The low current doesn't seem to heat it up at all.
