300 mw laser from ebay

And what sort of driver do i need

Also, i need help building a laser driver with lm317 chip and need help with what resistor i need.

Right, you really need to read up before posting. EVERYTHING you need to know about the LM317 has allready been answered, just do a search on "LM317" .

Also that diode is 808nm which is infrared , which the human eye cant see.

If your after a cisible laser you need to look for 405nm, 445nm, 532nm , 650nm.
