I don't know what the bidding started at, but at $250+ it is a huge gamble. Unknown spec, unknown builder with unknown experience, unknown quality of parts, 0 feedback as seller and only 8 as buyer.
For $49 more (ok, $79 including shipping to Netherlands)... Rick Trent sells a 3.4-3.5W 445nm on ebay for $299. That's brand new, known spec, plus he is proven reputable and will stand behind it if DOA.
Or Eitan (Sci-Fi Lasers) sells a 2.5-3W Terminator for $225. Again, brand new, guaranteed spec, he has a great reputation and will stand behind it. Great duty cycle, too, and at 2.5-3W the diode will likely last a lot longer than one driven to 3.5W (if that ebay one really is 3.5W).
I would definitely consider one of those choices -- or building -- rather than rolling the dice with $250+.
I was thinking the same thing
I already checked out the site for Sci-Fi lasers and saw a pretty awesome affordable blue laser which i think i will buy when i can spare the money.. i thought i'd be able to buy it this month but now i have to repair my @#$% phone -.-' somehow it isn't charging anymore even with a new battery and charger.. so unfortunatly a new laser is going to have to wait
