2x15266 + lm317 power 445nm????!!!

I understand the budget constraint. My 445 build was delayed several months because of that.

I assume by blue flashlight you mean the hotlights host. Two CR123As don't come close to fitting unless mod the host. The second one sticks out the back by about half an inch which is why I used 3x10440s in my PHR build. Your best bet would be to cut down the plastic spacer like DTR showed for the 18500 mod. if you do that leaving out the spring he attached and shorten the tail cap spring so it only sticks out enough to make contact you might be able to fit two 18500s in it. I'm not sure if protected ones would fit or not since the 18500 is about a mm or so longer than the 123 and the protection circuit usually adds about 2mm to the length. FWIW my protected AW brand 123s are the same size as a normal non-rechargeable lithium but I guess to keep it the same size they had to make the cell a bit smaller losing some capacity in the process. Just remember to measure thrice and cut once using a sharp saw blade since the plastic spacer/pill is really soft and breaks easily.

that host has enough room for 2 18500s??~?~?~! i bought this one
The Blue M host and heatsink combo - just add diode and driver [Blu_M] - $19.99 : StoneTek Electronics, Your Laser Parts Store

i think i get what you mean by the cutting down the spacer

but i also need room for my lm317

I asked DTR about fitting an 18650, and he said definately

i don't think two 18500s would be possible

but hey, i looked at that wikipedia link i posted

CR2, not CR123As

Cr2s are only 15mm in diameter and 27mm in length

the diameter is smaller than a 18500 diameter is 18mm

the length is 50 mm

so two CR2s would make 54mm of length

im still waiting to buy my 445nm diode from kendall in hightechdealz but he hasnt replied

thanks for all the help

That host is the same one. The picture on that site is from DTR's review actually and I'll give you a guess what the "M" refers to. ;)

That now said I'm an idiot. I was looking at the diameter not the length. Yeah two 1800s won't gonna fit. The sad thing is I've had that wikipedia page bookmarked for months and even looked at it while writing that post. Too bad I couldn't seem to read tonight.

Ok after reading the right specs I think your 15266s would do the trick. You might need to trim the spacer and/or spring a little to get the extra few mm.

Time to go crawl back under my rock for awhile.

ooh okay my bad, i am not really familiar with the hosts used around on lpf (this is my first host build)

anyways, yeah i think the 15266s will do the trick too =]

i will buy definately try them out

thanks alot kernal ! and rhd for your suggestions

P.S i've been trying to contact hightechdealz, aka kendall but i haven't gotten a reply yet

anyone know where he is or w.e
