I got inspired by this post on reddit and directly bought the laser off ebay for about 130$:

Laser model name: 420T-2000

It arrived today.
Holy smokes this thing is powerful! And the beam is really visible, I love it! The color is a very beautiful violet, something between violet and blue.

I found these old glasses:
"[SLBLG2] Eagle Pair® 190-540nm OD5 Standard Laser Safety Goggles" from survival laser.

Will these really protect my eyes well enough? Also even if my eyes would get hit from a reflection from a mirror or window for instance? What about direct exposure while I wear those glasses (not that I would ever try this, don't worry)?

If your laser safety glasses are what you say they are, then you should be well protected from a diffuse or specular reflection from your 2w 420nm beam.

That said there can be gaps at the bridge of your nose and at the side curtain when wearing your safety glasses, so always lase safely.
