So for my 2nd Blu-ray, i wanted to make something not so home made looking.  I'm not a big fan of the project boxes or the look of them.  So I kept my eyes peeled for a usable host everytime I went anywhere.  I found at Home Depot an Energizer Hard Case Professional little 3 LED flashlight that looked like it would be big enough, but not too big.  Here is the picture of it as it first looks.

Edit: One of the pics I took of the insides all in with cover off came out too blurry to make out.

Taking it apart is pretty straightforward, just have to remove the visible screws and a few hidden ones, a couple screw are hidden under the metal side piece.

And you have to remove the front rubber nose piece to access the other 2 hidden screws.

Once you have it apart, take your die grinder or dremel and go to town clearing out room for the 9 V battery.

And take the little lens piece apart so you can drill it out. I used a number 1 Unibit in a drill press.

Grinding out the front part makes enough room for even a fairly large DDL circuit and board. Put in your 9V battery, and circuit. ANd glue your front section of Aixiz housing with blu-ray installed onto the stock Lens assembly. Put it all back together.

Such a pretty color. tried to catch some of the beam in some light "smoke", but only got a small bit of it...

Hey desslok. Good job there! Nice looking host for a blu-ray. I'm right behind you with some different MXDL host ideas and battery configurations. I'm picking them up at the post office today. How about a look at how you mounted the module?

i love the case so much i hope you dont mind if i do the same desslok

Are you kidding me? Thats why i posted it. I was hoping it could save somebody else some time and money!

It sure did save me money, thanks, but not time. lol it's real difficult to clear out the inside with no grinder. my 9v barely fits, i messed up the lens part so im using a peice of plastic. it all works out though thanks again

here is my "desslok hard case blu ray mod" don't have any beam shots yet, waiting on the BR to come. Thanks for the posts desslok!

Nice! Did you get the yellow one or grey one? Also did you get the free carrying case? Cool thing about this case is if you do everything right ( NOT the way I did) you could pretty much have a water resistant blu-ray. I drilled out the front plastic piece on mine, but before I did, it was still just as bright.
