Interesting. Clockwise, or counter clockwise? And, at what burning distance? You never loosened the module case by adjusting the set screw did you? Because that would mean my dot (which is on the heatsink), could be moved.

counterclockwise, the distance is then about 20cm (8 inches or so). I never did open your build since the pics had the crucial "whats in there" data so i never felt the need to open it, yet at least.

But all in all the victorinox (swiss armyknife) of lasers is holding up quite well even after all the abuse i've put it thru.

Ahh, 8 inches! That makes sense now. The dot should be very close to the 5' focal point. And from there, it gets very touchy focussing for farther distances. The 20' focal point would be about 1/16" or 1/8" clockwise from the 5' focal point...

ahaa! From the instructions i understood that the focus was very sensitive in both directions, so never moved it much until a few days ago i started to experiment. The burningpower became something completely different then what it was before.

so the adjustment is sensitive for focusing on long distance but when playing closeup games you need to twist that knob more

Oh and the "waterproof" label is pretty much accurate had a unexpected test session with a glass of water. Works just fine.

Close one! Yeah, the MXDL host says 'waterproof', but with the laser mod, water can get in from the heatsink/module area. Not waterproof!
