Hey guys!

This will be the first laser I plan to buy, do you guys think it's fine?
It's 200mW, I'm wondering if I can see the beam at night (outside and inside, point it in the sky or across the room), and I want know if I can burn anything with it, and if I can, what I can burn (matches, paper, electrical tape, etc.)

Here is the link if you are interested.
It seems very cheap for the price, but I don't know much about lasers, maybe if there are better lasers or this one sucks, link me one please. I really want a green laser.

Powerful 200mw 405nm Blue-Violet Laser Pointer Star projector-Pen (Black) with 1 × 200mw 405nm Blue-Violet Laser Pointer Star projector-Pen 2 × AAA Batteries - Free Shipping

It will not be up to spec. Probably 70-100mW at best.

You will not see a beam without smoke/fog. You probably will not be able to burn anything with it... for that you need a laser you can focus.

LZCB - 405nm 200mW Water Proof Violet Laser Pointer

Get yourself a pair of goggles while you're buying a laser. Links on safety, and goggles, in my signature.

Thanks for the reply.
Are there any burning lasers that have a beam visible at night and maybe at day that are cheaper? I'm at a $25 budget.

Thanks.

Not at that budget no.

You will also need a pair of goggles for use with any laser that is clearly visible, and/or burns.

So cool to have a laser + goggles and still you can't see shit haha...

That company wont supply quality lasers IMO; apparently they're selling a 5000MW green laser for $32 (among other ridiculous claims)
405nm lasers usually won't produce a great visible beam; at <150 You might see the beam in the correct lighting (or lack there of lighting.) 405nm lasers are good at burning things, but not great for seeing beams. Green is the most visible, and you could see a beam at >50mW. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. My suggestion is look through rayfoss, lazerer, and O-like, or in the review section of LPF for more obscure companies. Every once in a while a company with no reputation or a bad one will ship out a good laser. At $25, you'll have to be extremely lucky to get a 200mw laser; if you want burning laser, get a 650nm or 405nm laser and for $25 you could get one. Maybe. Dont get your hopes up. If you want to get a visible beam i suggest raising your price range to at least $40

THERES A mistake in the sellers description for the lasers over 5000mW that are selling it for 35$ i talked to them and they said that they have to fix it ....are they going to do it ? IDK .... anyway. In that same web page you will find different sellers with different reputations ...so not all of them are the same, i bought my laser from a company that has at least a phone nuber, a picture of the seller and the phone of the seller. Like i said before , they have an outstanding customer service. Also theres a policy that says ; until you dont receive yor item and you verify that you have , the seller will not get his/her money, also after 58 days you can open a dispute ( the 58 days are actually running since the day of your purchase, its automatic ), besides that you can open a dispute in case you have a problem ..... Heres the link of the company Shenzhen Huayi Technology Co., Ltd. - clock, led light, usb gift
i will do a review of the laser and the company as son as i get the laser ....so lets wait and lets see what it turns out ^_^

BTW my laser was send to the post office on the 2nd of nov and now nov the 4th is ready to be shipped ....as stated on the tracking ID

HERES THE LASER THAT I ORDER http://www.aliexpress.com/item/301-...with-2-Switch-and-Lock-2CR123A/523735299.html

I WILL BE DOING A LPM TEST TO SEE IF ITS REALLY UP TO SPECT AND BASE ON THAT I WILL DO THE REVIEW

I'll just wait and see what Keiichi tsuchiya's LPM test results are. Thanks for the input!

I was just looking at this site again and came across this guy. I may be a novice but this seems a bit outrageous!!! Scammer or crazy generous.

I was just looking at this site again and came across 10,000, 8,000, 6,000 and 5,000mW lasers on this site from different sellers, some selling all of them! I think I'll pass! I may be a novice but that seems just a bit outrageous!!! Imagine that, a 10w hand held Laser, duty cycle, 1 second. I think I'll stick with buying from LPF!

Honestly, that's a very good decision bro. In a site crawling with claims of 10W 445nm pointers for under $300 I would have to sum the whole thing up with saying I would never trust a single laser off there. On the other hand, lasers built by LPF members are hand made and tested to assure outputs and most sellers warranty their lasers.

Also, even if the pointer gets close to its spec output there is a high chance it will not stay that way long. That being said, there is also a chance you may end up with a good deal. I wouldn't bet on that happening often.

Yea, I got carried away with the prospect of saving $$$. I see you have what looks like a blue ice. Is that from yob? I got a 1.2mW 445 from him a few months ago and it a great laser! I wonder, how can a 10w hand held be built? Seems impossible! But there might be a few honest sellers there but I'm not gonna take a chance and get burned like I did with rayfoss. They claimed that the WORNG laser they sent was 300mW 638 instead of the 200mW I ordered, it won't even light a match, and it was damaged. Like I said, I'll stick with LPF members. Thanks for making me dig a little deeper into that site!

No problem bro. Yes, I have one of Yob's Ice Blues. I never regret getting that laser that's for sure. The only way a handheld 10W 445nm laser can be built would be either for a company to design their own super diode or to run 3-5 diodes together. Basically it would end up being massive and/or beyond expensive.

I don't know, they must think people are stupid. I wonder how many people were sucked into buying them. I left them a heads up on the fact that it's wrong what their sellers are doing and that there is no way to build laser of that high a mW and then think they'll get some novice to buy one. They replied, that their sellers might have made an error in their listings. Really, 4 that I saw all had similar listings. Never buying a laser from china again!!!

My previous buy was from a site called LaserBTB which is a china based site and I am super satisfied with the laser. I think what you should pull from this is, don't buy a laser from a site that any random person can make a listing that states any random output they feel. You are better off with buying off a member here or a site that has very high rep here.
