OPEN OFFER TO FORUM MEMBERS!

Laserglow recently completed a small production run of 808nm handheld lasers for a special customer, and we have one left over which was not purchased. This laser is physically identical to our Orion-200 and has very similar beam specs (it is a diode laser, not DPSS). The "small" difference is that this particular laser is tested to produce a CONTINUOUS 1.01W of output. The output graph, over a 10 minute period, shows a perfectly straight line at 1.01W and I have personally checked and validated the output power. This laser is really, really powerful.

The asking price for this single unit is USD $1200, with free standard shipping and output power graph. We can also supply laser safety goggles, which are HIGHLY recommended for a >1W near-IR handheld laser.

Please contact me for more details. First come, first served because there's only one of these!

Justin - that is just WRONG to post that here ! LOL !!

EXCELLENT work, man !

WOW, :o wish I had the money to buy it, but I just blew my whole laser budget a couple days ago. ::)

Man, at that sort of power would 808nm be visible as deep red? What sort of stuff can it burn, wood!?!?! :o

I think 1 watt of 808 would be slightly visable But watch your eyes with this !!
I don't worry too much about 10 -20 mW unfocused IR from a greenie but this is a real fire breather.

'lazerlover drools as he reads this'
god I want that laser, instead of $1200, how about we put a period in there, how about this $12.00 ;D ;D ;D

Re: >1W 808nm Handheld from Laserglow (ONLY 1 UNIT

The visual appearance of this laser is similar to ~5mW of red, but when I tested it on a piece of electrical tape (with no extra lenses) it ate right through in about one second. With an external focusing lens this laser could produce a very serious amount of heat at close range. The beam is sort of rectangular, since this is a stacked diode laser like our Orion. It would be great for experimenters interested in DIY optical pumping or for anybody who wants to put "1.01W" in their signature line. ;)

Actually, I think that "1,010 mW" is probably more impressive sounding since people are used to hearing laser power rated in mW. Either way, this handheld laser means business.

almost had me until the rectangular beam bit.. Is the diode mode corrected at all ,is it colliminated?

Dare I ask just how bad the divergance is ?( 808 should be better than the 1064 dpss unit I use now ..)

You can buy it and give it to me....I will give it a loving home ;D I'll even send you a rare red pointer that has AWESOME psuedo-gold plated metal-like plastic caps with dirty pictures in them. ;D Yes, I know I offer WAY too much....but hey- what are friends for, eh ?

yeah basically this is your portable blinding device right here. Co2 won't go through glass, but this sure will.

It needs a good home in a lab. it's not a toy ( even though I can think of all kinds of fun i could do with it )

I found some pics of a orion on CPF ( CPF?t=132797 ) and some beam shots.. that dot looks weird, not what I was expecting.

Re: >1W 808nm Handheld from Laserglow (ONLY 1 UNIT

FYI: This unit is now SOLD. If anybody still wants one with similar specs we can do a custom build. Just keep in mind that it may take several weeks to complete. Thanks for your interest, everyone.
