1w 445nm without safety glasses?

wl says not too look at the diffuse reflection off of a wall or the floor at less than 3 feet, now I think if your wall is white thats gonna be too bright, I have a black patch of rubber on my wall ( green wall ) 8 feet away and aimed at that its been no problem too look at without the glasses, but mistakes do happen so be careful and clamp it down if your gonna view it without them.

Outside you should be fine pointing at stuff over 30 feet away as long as it's not reflective. DON'T point at street signs or parked cars!!!!!!! I once pointed a 140mw green at a stop sign 100 feet away and it was way too bright for comfort...

This is because stop signs, and many other highway, and safety sign use a reflective material that shines the light projected on it right back in the direction it came from. Up close it can shoot the light back into the diode. So you should avoid those kinds of signs.
