Hi,

I'm new here. I just ordered some parts on Ebay to make my first laser. It is a 1W 445nm laser, I am planning to put this on a little RC helicopter that I have. I need a pair of glasses though that will be able to block the beam. I am a super poor teenager, so whatever is cheapest I want. (But of course I'll pay whatever I have to -- it's for safety.)

Thanks

Cheap and lasers do not go together well ;) Eagle pair glasses are good. If you have more money OEM is the best you can get

These are cheep. They look a lot like the OEM ones. Would they work well?

No, they would not. They are cheap, what's referred to as T-Rex goggles.

I wouldn't trust those with anything over 100mW.

Edit: There is just too much variation in the cheap chinese junk that's produced. You might get lucky and get a good pair, or you might get a crappy one... problem is unless you have an LPM and another set of goggles, there is no way to test them. Since you only get two eyes, I highly suggest you invest at the very least in the ones from radiant. There is a coupon somewhere for their site for LPM members so you can get them a little cheaper.
