I'm not an expert with schematics like this but I did have a lot of help when designing the circuitry inside the laser guns pictured in my sigfile. That schematic you've linked seems like there's a little more than necessary when trying to 'monopulse' fire a laser. Assuming I'm correctly understanding that's what you're looking for, an extensive schematic might not be necessary

Interesting read, it's fun how all the old circuitry and logic gates are described. Today the controller would probably be far more advanced

All the electronics shown in the patent schematic could
easily be replicated today in firmware using an 8pin MCU...
