:'(I am interested in getting the DX200 green 18650 verison, but looking for the batteries I cannot see where you can buy them from, in New Zealand.

I have seen them on trademe here, but are rechargables, and had read rechargable ones are 1mm longer then the standard 18650 battery, so will cause problems.

Looking on Google and some of the main electronics stores in New Zealand and they don't seem to sell them, so seems hard to comeby here.

My only other option is to buy the CRT123A version, at least I know I can get the batteries.

Seems the 18650 is a special battery and at least here are not readlly availabe here.

Can you guys buy these batteries at all?

That is fine, but if you always got to import them from DX what's the point? Is it more conventant to be able to just go and buy them from your local shop like you can CR123A batteries?

This is the reason I am now concidering to buy the CR123A version over the 18650 version.

Why would you need to keep importing? A pair of rechargeable batts and a charger and you're set.

You're not buying non-rechargeable batts are you? lol ;D

I read the chargable ones are not good for the DX200 Because they are 1mm longer then non chargables, so you cannot screw the back properly.

Don't know how true it is?.

Is the one with the DX rechargable? If so will be good.

You're talking protected models vs unprotected models I'm fairly sure, not rechargeable vs non-rechargeable.

I'm sure someone on these forums has that model, I'm sure they can help you out on what rechargeable batts to get for it.

The DX200 18650 already comes with a battery, all you need is a charger, simple as that.If you want extra batteries buy any unprotected model,as the protected ones don't fit.
And there are no 18650 non-rechargeable batteries, there are unprotected and protected(I would explain the difference now,but you can find by yourself, don't be that lazy).

Cool, did not know the 18650 battery was only rechargable.
As far as I know they don't even make primary 18650's. They are all rechargeable. Just make sure you buy a smart charger like the DSD 18650 charger on dx.

If you're the adventurous type, you can salvage them from laptop batteries...

This one has 8!

Try not to explode too much though...
