16x LD max current

anyone know the max current on a 16x sony LD heres the model number

SLD1236VL

in its spec sheet it says 130mA but I got one running at 300mA and wanted to know what others have run these at

It is rated for 250mw peak output power.

It should tolerate 300ma with a good heat sink.

I had one from LG DVD burner that was 16x(closed can) and she worked for a while on 277mA with good heat sink. I didn't want to push her more than 350 (once or twice just for testing)....now she is dead but because of my mistake, current didn't killed her short cut did
