150mw green or 600mw blue-ray?

Should I buy a 150mw green laser for 118 USD or a 600mw blu-ray laser for around 150USD? I want a laser that Can-
- pop a balloon
- start a match
- you can see the beam in daylight
- (also engrave plastic stuff to- with my name on it)

Can both of these lasers do these things?

Both of these are on Rayfoss.com. I have a coupon for free glasses. Any replies appreciated. Thanks in advance!
 





i think you mean blue, not blu-ray? :thinking:
blu-ray is 405nm and you'd be lucky to get 600mw for 150$
445nm is usually a better burner, but for the price you might as well get a 1watt.
i have a 100mw green and a 1.2watt blue laser, and i cant really see either beams in the daylight.
both of the lasers you listed should fit your criteria though.

Yeah... that link works...

I would go with that 445nm Laser... and I like that it has a
key switch...

Before using that or any Laser I would STRONGLY suggest
that you get some appropriate Laser Safety Goggles/Glasses.

BTW... brighter Green than Blue does not mean more burning
power...

Faona said that I applied for some free goggles. So what you are saying is that I might not see the "blue" laser as much- but it has better burning power?
 
Another factor- would the blue laser have a higher chance of getting confiscated by customs?
 
since its only 600mw 445,
would an experienced vet be able to buy it, and then make it 1W?
(pot mod) or replace the driver entirely
EDIT: and i think yob is selling a 600mw 405 for $133 in the BST ;)
