10180 vs AAA

Li-ION 10180 100mAh 3.7V
vs
NiMH low self-discharge AAA 800mAh 1.2V


which one has the best capacity for current draws 50mA and 250mA?


i ask this cause i want to know wich laser kaychain will have the best autonomy.

NiMH has the best capacity, but you will need to stack them (3 for 3.6v).
10180 commonly has 500mAh of capacity.
oh btw: Li-Ion are dangerous :)
 
They're only dangerous if you abuse them. Would you forgo electricity in your home because it's dangerous?

Exactly.. Most things people use on a daily basis can be a lot more deadly than li-ion's when abused. Things are as safe as you make them.
 
As the others have said, Li-Ions are safe as long as your careful and don't leave them charging and go to bed or go shopping etc
 
500mAh for a 10180 ?
you mean 100mAh

so:
100*3.7 = 370
800*1.2 = 1000

but this is at low discharge currents... what about 50mA current and 250mA current ?
 
Why are you comparing 10180's to AAA's? 10180's are tiny. 10440 is the one thats a size match to a AAA.

Well, like they say in hot rod circles.. There's no replacement for displacement.. It's fairly true for batteries as well. The larger the battery, the more energy they will store.

Find the rating in watt/hours for the batteries your looking at. That will tell the story. Higher = better.
