I've personally used those modules before, they only put out ~100mW so just know that before you buy. Do not even try modding a 5mW to any kind of decent power, and as someone pointed out in the other GB thread, these are nearly impossible to "upgrade" how the modules are in the host.

Possibly. Not all modules are the same dimensions. So, the pen's module may not be the same dimensions as the dx one. Some have threads in th front, some dont. The pcbs can be different lengths, so the switch may not line up with the button. Some are different outside dimeters. With modifications, im sure you can make it work. Its worth a try :)

Edit: my bad, I thought he meant upgrading a new wish pen. Yes, it would be difficult to put that module into this waterproof host. The c-mount module is huge. Well, it could be done, if you have access to a machine shop ;)

I thought these came with a IR filter built in? if not I would like to add one to mine if possible as well.

According to luke (yobresal) on the other group buy, the cap can be removed and there's room to glue an IR filter in there. ;)

Well guys I really REALLY hate to do this, but I am going to have to bow out of this GB. As it turns out I lost my job today. I won't go into the details, but I have felt this was going to happen sooner rather than later. Lets just say I was the victim of a hostel takeover! I have some feelers out for jobs, but it may not come soon enough to get back in on this buy. Words can't express how bummed I am!

as rocket said, it should be relatively easy to install an IR filter on these, if you're asking me to install an IR filter, I apologize, but I just cannot do that.

Just to clarify also, these do not ship with IR filters, but they do have a piece of glass that has some "unknown" effects on the laser beam at this time, it appears to be AR coated, but for what, noone knows.

Yeah this GB has been really crazy :na: I'm pretty sure this isn't the "norm".

"6) Crazyk187" You're already on the list in the second post. I'm not sure why they are worrying too much about IR filters, as Yob pointed out these lasers barely leak 15mW IR

What's good is you reserving the last two slots on the list :P j/k

.............uhhhhhh :friend: so I drink a little and forget what I posted where I posted lol... I only want 1...lol:beer: I really can't afford that 1 but I can't see living my life anymore without an underwater laser, I mean why wouldn't I spend 60 dollars on that.....:takeit: :D
