100mw focusable vs 150mw not focusable.

This one > LZTN - 532nm 150mW Smallest Green Laser Pointer
(Out of stock)

I would pick the Focusable one, for burning

Is there are reason to chose green laser for burning ? You want pop not only black balloon and igniting the match then blue 445nm is a better choice.

405 is the best for burning by far:whistle:

The 100mW Mini will pop balloons, but personally I would go for the 100mW classic... it's a more robust laser that will last longer.

The blue is most expensive :(
The small if you are careful, I do not think there would be a problem ( I think )
You have shown me a better? I can not decide :(

Hi guys I want to purchase a green laser primarily for seeing the dot at long distances. (2 to 4 blocks) Should I get a focusable 100mw or a non focusable 200mw? The 100mw is from lazerer and the 200mw is from a person on LPF who lives really near me who is willing to sell his 200 to me.

Well for long distances you dont need to focus, so I would recommend the 200mW

Would focusing help distance? Since focusing can give you a tight beam wouldn't a tight beam help over long distances since divergence can be an issue?

For a dot, even 100mW is more than enough. What you will need though is a beam expander. Otherwise due to divergence, instead of a dot you'll have a rather large green blob.

I knew it would come to that. Right now I have the LCZS 100mw focusable 532nm from lazerer and Max told me there are no beam expanders for that. If it is possible can someone fabricate one for that lol. :san:

Is it possible... yes.

Does it make sense to do... no.

You can DIY, or get a beam expander from a company, and fit it to you laser.

IIRC Jetlasers was clearing out some beam expanders.

okay so I've visited Jetlasers website and they're selling a 10x beam expander for $100. So what you are saying is with the beam expander attached to my laser I get better visible range? How far do you think I would be able to see the dot?

Please start using the search box. There is lots of info about beam expanders, and divergence.

Your question is impossible to answer with the information given, even if I wanted to. I mean have you bothered to measure the divergence of the laser you have on hand now?

Research divergence and you'll find the answers you're looking for.
