100 WATT LASER $31 WORTH IT?!?!

High Octane said:
Heres one with the heat sink and a TEC built in and ready to go. The only bad thing is you don't know the mw. I bought one and it works. I'm currently waiting for a lens that will focus the beam.
It burns stuff, but it must be held close to the end of the fiber optics.

For the $10.00 to $15.00, its a good deal.
I'm guessing, but I believe the higher the ma the more powerful.
and these are IR, so be careful! and use goggles.

The above link is for a $14.00 one.
Heres a link for a $9.00 one

im thinking about buying one, just one thing,

when you say it burns stuff, does it burn better than the senkat diodes, or are senkat's more powerful? by its burning capabilities, would you say its at least a watt?

thanks,

amk

Well its like comparing apples to oranges.

This diode is a much higher MA and is sent through a fiber optic cable. Its not culminated and will only burn if the object is Real close.
As stated before, I would guess the mw between 300-600.
Collimating a fiber optic beam is difficult. and lets not forget where working with IR.

I can't really compare it to a SenKat LD, its just a whole different animal.

However, I prefer the SenKat Diodes. They are hardy and much easier to work with.
These E-bay IR Diodes are cheap and for experimentation. Don't expect alot and remember each one is different, Check out the different MA's in the descriptions.
