Okay, "pink" sure didn't help a lot with focusing on lasers.

But considering the good he has posted, the "crap" (that was always meant to be funny, as in lighten up our mood) he posted is suddenly dwarfed.

So yeah, he sure did post a lot of "not-all-too-serious" stuff (and more than enough pink pics, ouch!). But he also did post far more helpful/important stuff that more than balances it.


Also, you wouldn't want Timelord against you 'cause once he whips out those multiwatt lasers in the mugshot thread pic (with the OD99 goggles), you are in serious trouble.

I agree... I've been a member here for only a few days... but I have been frequenting the sites for over a few years now... Since I am on the projector side of lasers more than pointing I tend to spend a bit more time on PL... however, the reason why anyone ever really joins a forum is to learn... after all thats how people grow and get to develop some of the crazy toys we all love. Regardless... I do think the particular responses in question were out of line in various ways, what makes it worse is that you had fewer than 10 posts under your belt at the time...

Sarcasm is a dangerous thing on the internet, many times it can be taken very wrong, especially if the person dishing out the sarcasm is *new*.

Timelord doesn't know how much you have *read* here in the past few months... you may think you were joking around with him... all I know... in the insignificant amount of time I have spent here compared to others... I wouldn't jump in and say shit like that.

Sorry man, but you might have had the most joking attitude when writing your comments, but when the first comment popped up saying that you were out of place, you should have corrected yourself, instead of adding more insults.

I think if you continue on the path you are on you are sure to raise more than a few eyebrows.. :-?

CreM, offense exists not in the post, but in the interpretation of the reader. If you're offended by something - it's YOUR offense. This is why someone can post something that one person can laugh at and enjoy, and another feels offended and hurt by. If the "offense" was inherent in the post, EVERYONE would feel it. The same goes for humor, or any other emotion. Communication of any kind is an empty vessel, we ourselves add the meaning.

Timelord has done some amazing and wonderful stuff here. He states up front who he is and what he'll take - and what he won't. He has banned many people here for very good reason. Personally, I wish the moda could be reinstated.

You may wish to come in as "one of the boys", but you obviously haven't been reading behind the posts. You can have fun with people once THEY know YOU, but too often people come on here with an attitude that is more suggestive of massive ego and an entitlement complex, rather than a sense of cameraderie and artful one-upsmanship. Learn by doing, steps at a time, not by trying to leap into the deep end swim with the sharks. You will be torn up, spit out, and your legacy will be a post filled with adorable cat pictures and a whole lotta PINK!

Participate WITH us, or go somewhere else. No one really cares if you "were only trying" to say something. Contribute quality content to the forum or leave.
