<1.0 mRad too good to be true?

skylasers.. told me that theyr pen are 1mrad... and when i asked if it is possible ho have a better divergence.. they told me they could change the lense... and have bigger diameter abbout 2 mm but with 0.5 mrad!!! if it is really true.... it is very good
 





That's cool, maybe they get jayrobs lenses :).

And yeah greens can go above 5mw, I mean the diode in there is stronger than 5mw
 
Jack from opto just informed me that their 5 mw can peak at 8 to 10mw. I guess I'll keep it away from the cats after all. Oh well. At least I'll have a nice laser that I can let a friend hold without getting nervous about the power of it. By the way, I'm already dead set on getting the 150 mw from opto. That's so freakin' cool.... Anyway, thanks for your help guys.

It also matters how divergence is defined and measured. With a gaussian distribution, the number can be the size of the spot where its brighter than, say 50% of peak brightness, but it can also mean 10% or something else arbitrary. This makes a big difference in the number for the exact same laser.
 
I'm getting a Galileo Laser Glow laser (5mW). It costs $90...

But it is supposed to be good quality. I would like to know exactly what the divergence is.
Does anyone know exactly what the beam divergence is, or how it is compared to a Lyra?
