well im not sure exactly what it is but i know with MY diode i can hook it up the wrong way round and its fine (just doesn't turn on). but maybe not all are ok being put in reverse.....

well guys sorry i didn't respond earlier .... just graduated, party's most nights :). what i ended up doing was recording the sound on a little player thing like zarniwoop suggested and tore the recorder apart modified the switching and speaker, whacked it in a box and bobs your uncle it worked...

ok i hate to say it but i do not believe anyone will ever damage their eyes in any major way with ir from a green laser. personal opinion its just so hard to see how it could be done.... id be more concerned that if there is no filter what else was cut back on (button quality anyone?). besides...

broken bones suck man. i once broke one of the the middle bones in my foot, it took ages to heal cos i kept playing on it for a day in school championships, we won tho!. yeah but go easy on it so it heals proper!

personally i think IR is pretty much no problem whatsoever from a green laser unless ur sitting in a dark room with lasershades burning really close. Personal belief however. i mean IR generally diverges really rapidly and it just dont have the power to do much damage over any realistic...

im hoping laser tv and all those implications will make RGB lasers cheap as chips. its all about supply and demand really.

yeah post it up if u find out, i do like red lasers, jsut wish they were more viable, red beams at 5mw would be really cool.

congratulations you've probably been hit by 15mw of mildly annoying coherent light :P. Your fine mate with visable lasers any major damage will be noticeable (spots or blurry vision) and REALLY painful when it happened! but welcome to the forum mate :D
