    DX SD-303 200mW Review

Yea, I'm on mobile. It's rather a major PITA to edit, found that out with my typos, that's why I did that. Things have definitely gotten more strict around here since I joined up.. Well except for me getting into a forum fight with Senkat because he threatened to find and physically hurt...

    Another SD303 thread/question.

I hear ya there. I may just convert it to a 520nm. Going searching for parts, any recommendations are appreciated though. I'd love to hit the 200mw or up mark. Thanks guys

    Another SD303 thread/question.

Hmm. I just removed the diode from the module (dead. This is what killed the laser). Inside was a small domed lens, spring loaded to keep it a few mm from the diode. This lens was in between the crystal and diode. I'm learning, still confused on that one's purpose, unless it shrank the...

    Another SD303 thread/question.

I'm on mobile, no way it seems to upload pics. The module is simple. It has a brass housing with a 3 pin 808nm diode pressed in. (was) Glued to the business end is a off-center slotted collar, with the tiny crystal glued in. Glued to that collar was a small round plastic lens, steep...

    Another SD303 thread/question.

Chinese lasers are almost sways overdriven.. I learned that long ago. But hey for under 20 bux what the heck lol. I now have a replacement 303 on the way, the seller sent me another, no need for me to return the first luckily, no charge. Also spent $7 and $6.55 on two 301s. They should...

I want to buy a green laser for astronomy.

Hmm. I can't really recommend them, but if you want cheap, and have a smartphone, grab either the Wish or Geek app, pay less than 20 bux, and have an SD301 or SD303. They seem to be at least 80mw, and shoot a heck of a beam into the sky. IR? Well there's no filter, so know that...

    Another SD303 thread/question.

Yea, although every green I've had put out a maybe 1.5mm thick beam, same as this one. My bluray and reds that I built those years back put out a ballpark 3mm by 2mm beam. Definitely in the lenses. I would think for burning without focusing down, the small beam would be better. I really...

    DX SD-303 200mW Review

Prices, well on the Geek or Wish apps, anywhere from $5 to $30 for either a 301 or a 303, plus a couple bucks shipping.

    DX SD-303 200mW Review

I heard about the airport situation. Why anyone would be so dumb as to do that I have no idea.. It's crazy. So far the seller asked me to try another battery, and if that doesn't work he can send a new one. I explained that I have two new red "ultrafire 4000mah" batteries, both fully...

    DX SD-303 200mW Review

hakzaw, was that question for me? I ask because u mentioned a bad laser. I've already contacted the people in China where I bought mine from.

    Another SD303 thread/question.

Cool thanks for the advice so far guys. My fat beam reference was to my PHR803T build from 6 years or so ago. Compared the the DPSS greenies , the beam is over double the thickness. Same for my red burner that has since went LED on me. I actually have an SD301 on its way, a whopping 9...

    DX SD-303 200mW Review

I got mine thru the Geek app. Seller Orient Seduction. It was 14 bux shipped.. It lasted 3 days, maybe an hour or so runtime, never on for more than 30 seconds or so at a time. Went bright, then dead. The driver still works, it will run my old pen green module. I've asked for a refund...

    Another SD303 thread/question.

Cool beans. I'll update my profile, I'm in Northwestern Pennsylvania. The lens I would need is small, threads into the brass housing of my old green module. I have the 303 torn down. 12mm seems to be the size. Where I am lost is the lenses needed. The 303 had the collimating lens on the...

    Another SD303 thread/question.

Hello everyone! Longtime member here, been forever since I have posted though. I grabbed up a $14 shipped SD303, have had it for 3 days, and it is dead. Lol even my old "150mw" pen module is still working from 5-6 years ago, still as bright as it was new, but the lens sucks on it, lots...

    60 WATT 808nm Build Log

I too am interested in what this beast of a laser will do once finished ;D This seems on topic... Anyone in for a simailar cool project?.. Too bad I don't haver the cash lol.. I just searched "diode bar" on eBay.. found these item #'s. 390016987324 390018072100

    New high power 405nm diode?

I really doubt anything we do here will drive down sled prices. We are just a small group of hobbyists, among their whole range of customers who actually buy and use the sleds for their intended purpose..in optical reader/writer drives.

ARF:  Missing leg on Senkat LD

Re: ARF:  Missing leg on Senkat LD This is the Long open-can red that right now is the best red diode we can easily get. If you drive it at ~420ma, you will get 250-300mW of power depending on optics.. I actually am driving mine @480mA with good heatsinking and it has lasted for months:). Too...

    Yellow Laserglow Laser - $1.00

Truer words have never been spoken... trust me. :-/.. Please don't bother arguing with him, as I and many others on here have enjoyed the peace around here lately.:) I see the point of this thread, and the point here is not to rip off anyone, just (at first) a joke.. Now it has turned into an...

A long title that offers no info about this post

Re:  A long title that offers no info about t Many of the cheapo DX lasers have photosensors in them. Two of my now dead DX greenies had them, both were made by NewWish. I'd be curious to see if the Jasper laser contains a plain-old NewWish module......

    Glass collimating lenses?

The problem with the AR coating on the aixiz glass lenses is not that they are coated....its the wavelength the coating is designed for. The aixiz glass is coated for RED wavelengths. This means it is intended to let RED light pass through, without reflecting back at the diode or elsehwhere, but...
