    265nm lasers for SARS-CoV-2

Sorry for my absence, I've had some personal issues to deal with but I'm back again now! I stumbled on this youtube video of just such a drone!

    hi guys!

Yeah, the PM's mistaken concept of "herd immunity" got us off to a terrible start. I'd like to think there's been lessons learned but the evidence this far seems to be that nobody's learning anything til it takes one of their own. So many idiots in this country we're treating it like a holiday...

    265nm lasers for SARS-CoV-2

Yeah, if the drone idea was to be put into use it would maybe have to be set times, like when supermarkets close the drones could do a sweep of the stores, etc. As yet I've been using I.P.A on all incoming packages, does make the ink on labels run, etc. I've also been running an HV arc to pump...

    265nm lasers for SARS-CoV-2

I've been wondering if perhaps there should be arrays of "cancer ray" lasers fitted to drones for low risk sterilisation of commonly touched surfaces. It's just a seed of a thought in my mind and I have no way at all to try this myself but figured it was worth a discussion on here to guage the...

    hi guys!

Thanks :) I think this could possibly be one of the worst countries to be in during this thanks to how irresponsible our government are being. Up in Scotland we're apparently slightly better at dealing with it than the rest of the UK but overall it seems to be "too little, too late". The...

    hi guys!

I've updated my location now, I'm struggling with a broken phone ATM so I'm having trouble adding more, I will return and add much more once this pandemic calms down enough to get my laptop back. Hopefully once all this has passed I will get a chance to be much more involved in the lasering...

driver solutions for casio A141 array as etcher/cutterer

Excellent! Thanks :) I've still not got anything done with it yet as I'm missing a few supplies and thanks to CV2 I can't just nip to the shop :(

driver solutions for casio A141 array as etcher/cutterer

Excellent info, cheers very much! That's exactly what I needed to know. I'm not really fussed about using it as a cutter tbh, more just for etching designs into things. I do get that you can't perfectly merge the beams into a single high wattage straight beam so I understand why it would make a...

driver solutions for casio A141 array as etcher/cutterer

Hi, I've checked through search but I'm afraid my knowledge base is seriously lacking when it comes to driving methods for A/M140 diodes. I have the array from an XJ-A141 projector which has 6x A140 diodes and 18x M140 diodes in 4 series circuits of 6 diodes each. My maths is atrocious but I'm...

Laser newbie looking for safety advice

I actually got a cheap chinese nasty that turned out to be a peach for the £30 I paid for it. As was noted, it's around 1.6-1.8W but it has a good fine beam. I think I just got lucky and got a good one as it seems the good ones are genuinely pretty decent but the bad ones are awful. Bit of a...

Casio XJ-A141 should I repair or repurpose?

I've checked it out and it has 18x M140 diodes and 6x A140s.

Casio XJ-A141 should I repair or repurpose?

Yeah, that was pretty much what the other guy did and it seemed to work ok for his, he was etching basalt pebbles with little more than a seperate power supply. What kind of hurdles should I expect to encounter if I do choose to pursue this course rather than just fixing the projector? A quick...

Casio XJ-A141 should I repair or repurpose?

If I was to use it as a laser I think I'd keep the whole assembly with the laddered mirror, etc and use it as a cutter/etcher.

Casio XJ-A141 should I repair or repurpose?

It's got 6000hrs on it and does work, just with the pink tinge. If it is the green source I imagine it's better as a plaything, if it's just a trivial fix I'll keep it as a projector.

Casio XJ-A141 should I repair or repurpose?

Ahhhh, I'm not allowed to post the link yet but I found a detailed explanation of what the youtube dude did. If this isn't allowed please remove. http ://spt06.chez-alice .fr/00/lasers.htm

Casio XJ-A141 should I repair or repurpose?

This is the video I was lead to from another site i can't seem to find now. He removed this from a similar casio projector though I don't know if it was an A or an M.

Casio XJ-A141 should I repair or repurpose?

Thanks guys, I did wonder as all the info I had was based on a chap on youtube that didn't specify the exact model. I had no idea what the difference between the M and the A. So, am I best just repairing the projector or is it worth butchering it into a "plaything"?

Casio XJ-A141 should I repair or repurpose?

Hi Guys, this is my first post after the intro post and it's concerning a Casio projector I had to buy because cheap! I know a lot of this range have a ~40w 24 diode unit in them but can't seem to find any info on the one in this particular model. My thinking here is that I either repair the...

    Dye Laser Comes to Life!

For dye I found that a stabilo pink highlighter was more or less R6G, it was the simplest laser ever that I had it working as. I pumped it with a TEA laser made from a brass carpet door strip cut in half, foil and a binder divider as the dialectric, foil and folder polypockets rolled up for...

    hi guys!

Thanks! I'm just getting to know my way around and my phone's seen better days! I'll fix it when I get to the laptop tomorrow. 🙃 EDIT: My laptop appears to have done a breaking update and has lost several drivers (I really shouldn't leave it for 6 months at a time between using it!). I WILL come...
